#2020-343725/South Precinct/Third Watch:

On 12-14-2020 at 0202 hours, officers responded to the 4000 block of 31 AV S to investigate an occupied burglary, turned home invasion robbery. One of the suspects shoved an elderly resident of the house to the ground and stole her cellphone prior to fleeing. K9 responded and conducted a track. Officers reviewed available evidence and searched the area for the suspect vehicle for nearly two hours. Officers located the suspect sleeping in the vehicle, about one mile away from the residence. Officers conducted a field show-up and the suspect was positively identified. The suspect was taken into custody and the vehicle was impounded to the processing room pending the application for a search warrant. The three additional suspects are still outstanding. 

#2020-343791/East Precinct/First Watch:

On 12-14-2020 at 0730 hours, while assisting the Parks Department with park closure notices, Parks Department, SPD, Outreach, CRT, MHPS were met with immediate resistance regarding our presence. Two signs were posted when suspect 2 assaulted a CRT officer, justifying a disengagement. As resources disengaged, they were followed by park occupants that refused to disengage. During disengagement, suspect 1 ran up and shoved an officer from behind. Subject was arrested after a struggle where he kicked an officer as well. Suspect 2 then circled the arrest scene and punched an officer doing crowd control for the arrest. Suspect 2 was pepper sprayed and fled on foot avoiding arrest.
