#2021-001545/West Precinct/First Watch:
On 01-03-2021 at 0447 hours, officers on-viewed a tent fire on a planting strip in the Lower Queen Anne neighborhood. The tent was unoccupied. There were no injuries. Seattle Fire Department extinguished the fire. SFD fire marshal responded. No suspects were seen however the tent resident believes the fire was set. The victim confirms there was a verbal dispute with a visitor of a nearby tent earlier this date. SPD Arson Bomb Squad was advised of this incident.
#2021-001632/Southwest Precinct/First Watch:
On 01-03-2021 at 0920 hours, a victim and suspect in separate units at the 2900 BLK of SW Avalon Wy got into an altercation. According to the victim, he asked the suspect for a cigarette, and the suspect told him to go inside his apartment to retrieve a cigarette. The victim went inside the suspect’s apartment for a cigarette. The suspect became mad that the victim was inside his apartment and taking a cigarette, so he stabbed him. The suspect appeared to be in crisis. Homicide was notified about the incident. The suspect was arrested and booked in the King County Jail. The knife used in the incident was recovered.
#2021-343569/South Precinct/Second Watch:
On 01-03-2021 at 1435 hours, SPD detectives along with the USMS Violent Offender Task Force, learned that a subject wanted for multiple felony warrants was going to arrive on a flight into Sea-Tac airport today. The warrants are all related to assault, gun crimes, and felony harassment (with bias elements) and the suspect has a long history of violent crime in Seattle. With short notice, the detective and task force personnel were able to respond and work with Port of Seattle PD to safely take the suspect into custody. After the suspect was arrested, the SPD case detective was able to interview the suspect about the assault and harassment case, prior to him being booked into the King County Jail.
#2021-001921/North Precinct/Second Watch:
On 01-03-2021 at 1703 hours, Vehicle 1 was westbound on N 85 ST when the brakes failed and struck Vehicle 2, which had slowed for traffic just ahead of Vehicle 1. This caused Vehicle 1 to overturn and come to rest in the eastbound lanes of N 85 ST. The driver of Vehicle 2 was not injured and the driver of Vehicle 1 sustained minimal injuries.
#2021-001984/South Precinct/Second Watch:
On 01-03-2021 at 1849 hours, two armed suspects confronted a male as he drove into his driveway. Both parties exchanged gunfire. The victim fled inside his home and the suspects ran off on foot and reportedly met up with a vehicle and fled the area. The victim was treated by Seattle Fire for non-life-threatening gunshot wound and then transported to the hospital. This crime may have been retaliation for the victim’s identification of a known suspect who robbed him recently in Skyway. Officers processed the scene and collected evidence. The suspects were not located at this time.
#2021-002130/East Precinct/Third Watch:
On 01-03-2021 at 2244 hours, a gunshot wound victim was driven by his brother to Harborview Medical Center with a non-life-threatening leg wound. The victim and his brother had just left a weed dispensary near S. Lander St and 4 Av S. An unknown make or model vehicle drove beside them and opened fire hitting the driver side several time; one bullet struck the passenger victim. The suspect fled in an unknown direction. Nothing further was reported. An extensive area search yielded negative for a suspect or crime scene. The victim vehicle was impounded pending a search warrant from follow up units.
