#2021-8184/East Precinct/Third Watch:
On 01-11-2021 at 0128 hours, officers observed a known warrant suspect in the area of Boren Av and Pike St. The suspect had an active warrant from DOC for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender. Officers stopped the suspect and attempted to place him under arrest for his warrant. He tried to break free and run. A brief struggle ensued resulting in minor superficial injuries sustained to the suspect, and a Type II Use of Force classification. The suspect attempted to bite officers during the arrest and scratched another. He was taken to a local hospital for evaluation and later booked into the King County Jail for three counts of Assault 3rd Degree. DOC was contacted about the warrant and they will verify upon his release from jail. This incident was screened with FIT.
#2021-8246/West Precinct/First Watch:
On 01-11-2021 at 0530 hours, officers responded to an alarm at a construction site. Evidence recovered indicated the suspects threw items onto a cart. Officers located the 2 suspects with property that was from the site. The male and female were arrested for Burglary.
#2021-8653/West Precinct/Second Watch:
On 01-11-2021 at 1633 hours, a suspect had been trespassed from a drugstore by staff. The suspect returned and refused to leave. He also possessed a folding knife in his hand (not opened) while threatening to assault a victim. The suspect then left the area on foot prior to police arrival but was contacted several blocks north of the store on 32 AVE W. The suspect was contacted by officers when he then produced the knife blade open and made threats to harm officers. An officer deployed his Taser, which appeared ineffective (heavy clothing), then gained verbal compliance and took the suspect into custody.
