On 01-10-2021 at 1709 hours, officers responded to a collision, with associated shots fired, near the intersection of NE 143rd St and 32nd Ave NE. Based on their investigation, officers determined a maroon Mercedes SUV was being chased by an older silver/gray Honda sedan, at a high rate of speed. When the SUV attempted a SB turn onto 32nd Ave NE, it collided with one occupied vehicle and five parked vehicles. The chasing sedan then drove by the collision scene and the occupant(s) fired several shots at the disabled SUV, striking it at least two times. The SUV driver fled on foot. The sedan fled SB on 32nd Ave NE. An area check was conducted, with negative results for both. There were no reported injuries. One parked vehicle also sustained bullet damage. Evidence was recovered at the scene. The SUV was impounded, pending service of a search warrant.  The Gun Violence Reduction Unit screened this incident.

#2021-008119/South Precinct/Third Watch:

On 01-10-2021 at 2247 hours, an incident appears to have started as a road rage incident. The vehicles were SB on Rainier when vehicle 1 tried to pass vehicle 2. This was unacceptable to the driver of V2, who intentionally sped up to prevent this. V1 eventually did pass V2. V1 then turned WB on Cloverdale. V2 followed. V1 apparently did not like this and began shooting out his window at V2. V2 continued to follow V1. V1 got away. Patrol located the scene and found evidence of a shooting along Cloverdale from Rainier to Renton. No injuries. No property damage was located.
