Officers Arrest Cigarette Burglar, Again

For the second time in a week, Seattle Police arrested a man in the East Precinct for breaking into a business to steal cigarettes.

Early Wednesday morning, around 3:30 PM, police received a report of a break-in at a pharmacy in the 500 block of 15th Avenue.

At the store, officers found someone had shattered a window with a cantaloupe-sized rock and made off with 153 packs of cigarettes and 48 lighters, valued around $1,500.

Officers found the 26-year-old suspect—who officers had arrested in the East Precinct just four days earlier for burglarizing a convenience store for cigarettes—and took him into custody.Police recovered the stolen cigarettes and lighters from his backpack and booked him into the King County Jail.
