#2021-009670/West Precinct/Second Watch:
On 01-12-2021 at 1851 hours, while on patrol a K9 officer heard about 10 shots being fired in the area of 10 Ave S/ S Dearborn St. After broadcasting the initial shots, the officer heard another 10-15 shots being fired. It seemed the shots were coming from the area of the “jungle” under the I5/I90 interchange. Officers responded to the area and began to set up containment. A witness emerged from the containment area and was interviewed. The witness said that 5 unknown males wearing ski masks and carrying guns had arrived at one of the encampments and demanded a gun from one of the tents. The witness said that the 5 unknown males then began shooting and she fled until she found officers. Additional resources were called to the scene and SWAT conducted an area search. Multiple encampments were checked, and no victims or evidence of a shooting were located.
#2021-1954/North Precinct/Third Watch:
On 01-12-2021 at 1954 hours, a reporting party (RP) discovered a swastika symbol etched into the paint of his vehicle. The RP advised he did not believe the incident was directed toward his protected status or group.
#2021-009881/North Precinct/Third Watch:
On 01-12-2001 at 2347 hours, four masked suspects entered a marijuana dispensary located in the 300 block of N 36th Street and committed an armed robbery. Two of the individuals were armed with handguns. The estimated loss for the business was close to $5000. Suspects fled in a vehicle that was parked nearby. Robbery was notified.
