Officers arrested a convicted felon and recovered a loaded handgun, two stun guns, and 150 car keys after spotting two people sitting in a stolen car in North Seattle early this morning.
Around 1:45 AM officers noticed a running Honda in the parking lot of North Acres Park in the 12500 3rdAve NE and discovered the car was stolen.
Officers ordered the 32-year-old male driver and 31-year-old female passenger out of the car and took them into custody.
Police searched the driver and found a stun gun in his pocket. Moments later, a bullet fell out of his pants. Officers then searched the stolen car and found a loaded handgun—which was registered to someone other than either the driver or passenger—along with another stun gun, a fixed-blade knife, and 150 car keys.
Officers released the passenger from the scene and booked the driver—who, as a convicted felon, is unable to possess firearms—for unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of a stolen vehicle.
