Police are investigating after a man who was being assaulted shot and injured his assailant.
Shortly after 9 AM Sunday officers were called to the 3800 block of Stone Way North for a report of a shooting.
Police arrived moments later and found a man who claimed to have shot an individual. The man said that as he was walking down the street when an unknown person crossed the road and began punching him in the head and chest. The victim drew his concealed firearm and shot the suspect.
The suspect was located by officers a few blocks away. Seattle Fire department medics were called to the scene and transported the suspect to Harborview Medical Center where he is currently being treated for non life threatening injuries. Police will book the suspect into King County Jail when he is released from the hospital.
