#2021-040885/South Precinct/First Watch:

On 02-18-2021 at 0934 hours, officers responded to a disturbance at a restaurant located at 6021 MLK JR Way S. Upon arrival, an officer learned that the owner/victim of the business had responded to examine damage from a small fire that occurred outside the building last night. As he approached the business, he encountered the suspect who was sitting outside, and the victim advised the suspect to move along. The suspect became enraged, told the victim to “Go back to his own country.” The suspect then picked up a garbage can and began assaulting the victim with the garbage can, striking the victim in his head numerous times. The victim fled on foot and the suspect pursued. The suspect caught the victim and assaulted him further by striking him in the head multiple times with his fists. Officers arrived and detained the suspect. The suspect made numerous derogatory remarks to arresting officers.

#2021-41147/South Precinct/Second Watch:

On 02-18-2021 at 1409 hours, a male entered the Shell Station located near Rainier Av S/ S Garden St. He selected a bottled drink and approached the counter displaying a black semi-automatic handgun. Once the suspect emptied the till, he left on foot last seen running SB. Officers quickly set up containment and K9 units conducted an extensive search with negative results. This robbery was similar to a near-by robbery at the 76 station the previous day. (21-40228)

#2021-041529/East Precinct/Third Watch:

On 02-18-2021 at 2244 hours, a suspect left Safeway located at 2201 E Madison St with $200 worth of meat. Loss Prevention attempted to detain him, and he assaulted them by pushing, then fled with the product. He was not located on an area check. At 2348 hours, the same suspect was in the Safeway at 1410 E John St. He was attempting to leave with a shopping cart full of $600 worth of groceries. Loss Prevention attempted to stop him, and he assaulted them by biting them on the arm before fleeing. Officers arrived in the area and located the suspect nearby. Loss Prevention identified him as the suspect for both incidents. Suspect was arrested and booked for two counts of robbery 2. Loss Prevention also reported the same suspect has been involved in an investigation for the past 6+ months. 21-41529 and 21-41560.
