Police Downtown Arrest 5, Seize Stolen Guns, Assorted Narcotics

Officers made several narcotics-related arrests in neighborhoods around downtown Wednesday afternoon and evening, resulting in the recovery of two stolen guns and the seizure of an assortment of illegal narcotics.

Just before 3:00 p.m., officers watched a 43-year-old man in the 600 block of 3rd Avenue make a narcotics sale. He was promptly arrested and found to be in possession of $2,200 in mostly small bills, in addition to the following narcotics: 33.8 grams of hash, 15.4 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, 0.8 grams of crack cocaine, 5.5 tabs of MDMA, and 4 benzodiazepine pills. The suspect was booked into the King County Jail for illegal possession of narcotics with intent to distribute.

Shortly after 3:30 p.m., police watched a male suspect near 12th Avenue South and South Jackson Street make multiple drug sales. Officers arrested the man and discovered he had a pistol in his pocket. A records check revealed that the pistol had been stolen in a burglary, and that the suspect was on federal probation for a narcotics-related conviction. The 52-year-old suspect also had approximately $351, plus 10.7 grams of crack cocaine, 1.5 grams of heroin, and 0.7 grams of methamphetamine on his person. He was booked into the King County Jail for possession of a stolen firearm, unlawful possession of a firearm, and possession of illegal narcotics with intent to distribute.

Around 7:15 p.m., officers near 3rd Avenue and Pike Street saw a male suspect engaging in narcotics activity. Police arrested the 27-year-old man and discovered he had a handgun. After performing a records check of the gun police learned it was stolen, and the man was booked into the King County Jail for possession of a stolen firearm.

As part of this operation in the downtown area, officers arrested and booked into KCJ two additional male suspects for illegal possession of narcotics.


Officers also served a search warrant Wednesday afternoon in the 800 block of Yesler Way. Police arrested three individuals and recovered a firearm, a sword, and narcotics. For more information follow this link.
