#2021-047898/East Precinct/First Watch:

On 02-26-2021 at 0345 hours, a female returned home and discovered two known suspects removing property from her home and placing it in the bed of their truck. The victim demanded the suspects return her property however her demands were ignored. The victim then called 911 to report the crime and was assaulted by the two suspects knocking her to the ground. The suspects stole her furniture, clothing, computer, phone and fled the location just as officers arrived.

#2021-47949/South Precinct/First Watch:

On 02-26-2021 at 0618 hours, officers responded to a burglary in progress at the pharmacy located in the Rainier Beach Rite Aid. The suspect was seen breaking the glass window at the drive-up and then climbing inside the unattended pharmacy as the store was not open for business The suspect was then witnessed exiting back through the same drive up window carrying an approximately 7-10 gallon white baggie full of an unknown pharmacy product. The suspect ran northbound along the building and then eastbound through the parking lot towards Dollar Tree. A hatchet was located near the Dollar Tree store, presumed to be the tool used by the suspect to break the glass and make entry into the pharmacy window. K-9 responded to the scene and attempted a track of the suspect, however the track was lost. Suspect was not located.

#2021-048542/West Precinct/Second Watch:

On 02-26-2021 at 1801 hours, two males were in a verbal argument in City Hall Park. The argument escalated to the point where the suspect took the victim’s cane and beat him with it. Victim was unconscious when SPD and Seattle Fire arrived. While medics were treating the victim, he regained consciousness. Victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center. Suspect was gone.

#2021-048583/South Precinct/Third Watch:

On 02-26-2021 at 1911 hours, officers responded to a call of a suspect with a knife (machete) on him, chasing people. Additional reports came in reporting the suspect was taking his clothes off. Additional caller reported suspect is now naked, making animal noises and sweating. It was very cool out and slight rain. Officers believed the suspect was experiencing excited delirium and requested medic response while setting up a contact team and a staging area. Officers located two victims at the staging area, one with a bite wound and another who was assaulted with the machete but was not cut. Probable cause was developed for Investigation of Harassment and Assault. The suspect was last seen entering a homeless encampment along the RR tracks to the south of Spokane St. The contact team was able to enter the encampment from the South, contact the suspect and take him into custody without any injuries or Use of Force. The suspect was eventually treated at the scene by Seattle Fire medics, taken to the King County Jail, rejected for injuries, treated at a local hospital and re-booked in KCJ for Inv. of Harassment and Assault.

#2021-48732/South Precinct/Third Watch:

On 02-26-2021 at 2204 hours, officers responded to a disturbance inside a Safeway location. It was determined the subject wanted to go to the hospital for a voluntary referral/evaluation. AMR was called to the scene for transport. Upon AMR arrival, the suspect became extremely paranoid and ran into the adjacent Ross store. The suspect proceeded to damage a security device and broke two windows. Officers were able to take the suspect into custody outside the store. A type 2 Use of Force was completed due to minor injuries to the suspect during the arrest. The suspect was transported to Harborview Medical Center for a mental health evaluation. Charges are being requested for Property Destruction and False Reporting. The incident and UOF was screened.
