#2021-054357/Southwest Precinct/First Watch:

On 03-05-2021 at 0659 hours, QFC security (2500 BLK SW Barton St) saw a suspect grabbing meat and a bottle of Gatorade. The suspect walked past all points of sale, and security attempted to stop him. The suspect punched security in the face and left the store with a stolen item. Officers located the suspect on SW Barton St and detained him. Security positively identified the suspect, and he was placed in custody. The bottle of Gatorade was recovered, and the suspect was booked into the King County Jail.

#2021-054686/South Precinct/Second Watch:

On 03-05-2021 at 1312 hours, officers responded to a large construction site in the 3900 block of S Othello to investigate a potential Malicious Harassment incident. A swastika had been located in an interior section of one of the buildings under construction. The building involved is owned by a children’s clinic named after a prominent local minority figure.

#2021-054812/West Precinct/Second Watch:

On 03-05-2021 at 1534 hours, officers were dispatched with Seattle Fire to a report of a male that had jumped from the 6th floor of a building. Officers and SFD arrived and found the male on the sidewalk with multiple fractures. Medics transported the male to Harborview Medical Center.

#2021-054857/North Precinct/Second Watch:

On 03-05-2021 at 1627 hours, multiple callers reported an explosion and a woman with a suitcase on fire. There was no evidence of any criminal element to this incident based on the preliminary investigation and interviews with witnesses at the scene. The victim suffered severe burns and was transported to Harborview Medical Center. The explosion was the result of a large flash fire from White Gas. The SPD’s Arson Bomb Squad and Seattle Fire’s Fire Investigation Unit responded to conduct the follow-up investigation.

#2021-54923/West Precinct/Second Watch:

On 03-05-2021 at 1755 hours, officers were conducting a retail theft operation at a hardware store. Suspect stole a radio and fled. Officers moved in to contact him, but he got into a waiting vehicle which then rammed a patrol car before driving over a berm and fleeing at a high rate of speed. Vehicle later reported as stolen. Minimal damage, no injuries. Suspect has been identified.

#2021-055002/North Precinct/Third Watch:

On 03-05-2021 at 1935 hours, 911 received a report of an armed robbery in the 700 block of NW 65th St. It was reported that the suspects fled the area on foot, in an unknown direction. A witness on scene later reported, that the suspects were observed driving away from the scene, northbound on Cleopatra PL NW. Police units searched the scene but did not locate the suspects.

#2021-055064/South Precinct/Third Watch:

On 03-05-2021 at 2119 hours, an officer on-viewed a suspicious vehicle in the 1500 block of Valentine PL S and contacted the subject he observed rummaging through the trunk. As he began to interview the subject, the subject fled on foot. After a short foot pursuit, the subject was taken into custody. During the struggle to apprehend the suspect, a city-wide “Help the Officer” was broadcast by radio. The vehicle had been stolen during a burglary at a local middle school. Additionally, the subject had outstanding warrants. The subject was booked into the King County Jail.
