#2021-58914/South Precinct/First Watch:
On 03-10-2021 at 0757 hours, a verified stolen vehicle stolen off the dealership lot in Renton was being tracked to 9258-Rainier Av. S. The dealership employees located and confronted the driver, one of them armed with a handgun, and held the suspect until SPD officers arrived on scene and took the suspect into custody without incident. The Major Crimes Task Force was notified and responded to the South Precinct to interview the subject. They obtained a statement and the subject was then later booked into the King County Jail for investigation of Stolen Vehicle.
#2021-59352/South Precinct/Second Watch:
On 03-10-2021 at 1535 hours, officers were dispatched to an occupied burglary at high-rise apartments located near Rainier Av S/ S Spokane St. As officers were arriving it was updated that the subject was actively fighting with the occupant of the unit. As officers were entering the building, the suspect exited the elevator and was being pointed out by witnesses. The suspect disregarded any commands by the officers and attempted to push through the officers and run out the doors. There was a type II Use of Force and an injury to an officer while taking the subject into custody. The subject was also the same person in a similar attempted burglary earlier in the day and identified by the property manager as the subject in a burglary last week. He was booked into the King County Jail for Investigation of Burglary, Robbery, and Assault.
