#2021-060638/South Precinct/Third Watch:
On 03-12-2021 at 0100 hours, officers responded to investigate a shooting in the 1900 block of 22 AV S. Officers located a business and a vehicle that had been damaged by gunfire. Officers canvassed the area and located evidence of a shooting. No one was injured.
#2021-060721/South Precinct/First Watch:
On 03-12-2021 at 0525 hours, a male entered a Subway restaurant, removed a realistic black Nerf handgun and informed the staff worker and customers that he was conducting a robbery. While he began to take items from the customers, the restaurant worker, recognizing the handgun as a Nerf, rushed and tackled the suspect to the ground. The customers then participated in the apprehension efforts, keeping the suspect detained until patrol arrived and conducted the arrest. No injuries were reported.
#2021-061064/Southwest Precinct/Second Watch:
On 03-12-2021 at 1247 hours, officers responded to a tiny village homeless encampment for a report of a recently trespassed inhabitant threatening current occupants of the encampment. While the officers were conducting their investigation, the subject was located but he ran into his former shelter space. The subject refused to exit and threatened suicide. Officers established probable cause for the subject’s arrest for Investigation of Harassment, Burglary and a previously reported assault. Containment was established and the Hostage Negotiation Team was requested. A search warrant was obtained, and SWAT responded to assist in the service of the search warrant. Prior to the service of the search warrant, the subject continued communications with HNT and, after approx. 4.5-hours, he eventually surrendered to SWAT officers and was taken into custody without further issues. The subject was booked into the King County Jail.
#2021-061162/East Precinct/Second Watch:
On 03-12-2021 at 1419 hours, officers were investigating a separate incident (see 2021-61144) when the suspect approached them and interfered with their investigation. When officers contacted the suspect he intentionally spat in the face of an officer. The suspect was arrested for Assault 3rd. No officers suffered an injury. Type II Use of Force was used.
#2021-061324/West Precinct/Second Watch:
On 03-12-2021 at 1823 hours, a driver lost control of his vehicle and drove into the Central Library. Driver was evaluated by a Drug Recognition Expert and blood warrant was applied for. Vehicle may have had mechanical issues.
#2021-061500/West Precinct/Third Watch:
On 03-12-2021 at 2245 hours, both the suspect and victim live in a tent encampment in lower Queen Anne. Suspect is well known to the occupants of the camp as being a racist, and anti anything that is not like him. Tonight, that suspect armed himself with a large stick/staff and chased after victim, yelling “I’m going to kill you (racial slur) bitch.” Suspect swung the stick trying to hit victim, but she was able to evade the assault. A witness backs up victim’s version of the event. Suspect was arrested and booked into the King County Jail.
#2021-061502/North Precinct/Third Watch:
On 03-12-2021 at 2246 hours, officers were dispatched to a robbery call at a message parlor in the Fremont Area. The caller reported that 2 armed suspects had robbed the business and then left the business in an unknown direction. Officers arrived and contacted the caller/victim. Other officers arrived and conducted an area check. According to multiple victims, the suspects stole cash and other belongings. The suspects were not located. The incident was screened with the Robbery Unit.
