SPD investigators have arrested a man suspected of slashing tires and brake lines on dozens of vehicles in and around Seattle and are now seeking additional victims who may not have previously reported damage to their vehicles.
Detectives believe the man is responsible for dozens of cases in Seattle—primarily in the South Precinct—and SPD is working with investigators in other nearby jurisdictions, where other similar crimes have occurred.
Police arrested the 36-year-old man in South Seattle early Friday morning and booked him into the SCORE jail in Des Moines for a Department of Corrections felony warrant violation.
Detectives continue to investigate these incidents and believe the suspect may have committed unreported damage in the Rainier Beach area over the last three months. Police are asking any victims, who have not previously reported unexplained damage to their brake lines or tires, to contact SPD at SPDGIU@Seattle.gov. Detectives are also seeking any surveillance footage or witnesses to these crimes.
