#2021-66988/North Precinct/First Watch:

On 03-19-2021 at 0840 hours, Northwest Hospital called 911 to report that a patient said that a bomb was in his car in the parking lot and it would explode in seven minutes. Officers responded and made a perimeter around the car. The patient said that his neighbor wants to kill him and gave him a message mat that concealed a bomb which he left in his car. He also said that he has schizophrenia, smoked meth yesterday and that his neighbor was communicating with him telepathically. The Arson Bomb Squad was contacted and responded to clear the car. It was clear. Crisis report completed.

#2021-067564/South Precinct/Second Watch:

On 03-19-2021 at 1400 hours, a suspect engaged in aggressive, road rage-style driving after staring down a victim driver and her passenger, and yelling obscenities and racial remarks. The suspect ultimately blocked the victims’ lane of travel, exited his vehicle, threw an object at the victims’ vehicle, then charged at them. The victims were able to maneuver past the suspect to avoid physical assault or property damage. The victims believe the suspect targeted them because of their race. The incident, which occurred near S Columbian Wy / Beacon Av S and was later reported in the North Precinct, was captured on the victims’ dash camera, and by others who posted the incident on social media platforms.

#2021-67278/East Precinct/Second Watch:

On 03-19-2021 at 1400 hours, it was reported that some time overnight, an unknown person wrote graffiti with a permanent marker on a private building in the 1600 block of 12th Av in the East Precinct. The graffiti implied harm toward police officers stationed at the East Precinct using religious symbols and both direct and indirect threats. Photos of the property damage/threats were taken, and other evidence is being sought.

#2021-67458/North Precinct/Second Watch:

On 03-19-2021 at 1719 hours, the owner of a University District restaurant reported recently receiving several biased messages sent through the restaurant’s online ordering system. The messages were disparaging toward the owner’s ethnicity/religion, and today they received a message threatening to shoot up the business “today be ready”. Although there have been no similar incidents in the store, the owner was very concerned for the safety of his staff.

#2021-67639/South Precinct/Third Watch:

On 03-19-2021 at 2138 hours, officers were flagged down regarding a shoplift suspect outside a Safeway location. Officers contacted the suspect and attempted to place him under arrest. The suspect was eventually taken into custody and Type 1 Use of Force was used. While being walked to the patrol vehicle the suspect attempted to head-butt an officer, but he missed, and all officers were ok. The suspect was transported and booked into the King County Jail. The incident and Use of Force were screened.
