#2021-084682/Southwest Precinct/First Watch:

On 04-08-2021 at 1114 hours, officers responded to a subject inside a store threatening employees with a knife as he was stealing beer. The suspect saw the employees looking at him, so he started to put more beer into his pockets. The suspect then pulled out a fixed blade knife and began to wave it in the air and flip the employees off. As he was leaving the store, he did the same thing to another employee. He was located several blocks away and placed under arrest. The suspect was positively identified by the store employees. He was booked into the King County Jail for Investigation of Robbery.

#2021-84766/East Precinct/Second Watch:

On 04-08-2021 at 1246 hours, officers responded to a shooting in the 1700 block of Melrose. Officers found an adult male victim on the sidewalk at this location with a gunshot wound to the leg. Seattle Fire was brought to the scene to treat the victim and he was transported to Harborview Medical Center via Medic One. The victim told officers that he was walking through the homeless encampment situated along the interstate 5 on-ramp when this shooting occurred. The victim claimed an unknown adult male became angry with him for unknown reasons and shot him in the leg. The victim told officers he thought the suspect lived in the encampment but could not say where. The suspect then allegedly fled the scene in an unknown direction. Officers found a blood trail leading into the homeless encampment and a couple of witnesses that heard the gunshot. The encampment was cleared of any persons with possible firearms by responding officers. Officers took photos of the scene and recovered further evidence from the area. Homicide was notified of the incident.

#2021-66800/South Precinct/Second Watch:

On 03-19-2021, suspects committed an armed robbery at a North End motel. Over the past few weeks, a detective working in Robbery identified the suspects (both violent felons), established probable cause for Robbery, and collaborated with King County Sheriff’s Office detectives to establish PC for one of the suspects for an Assault 1 (shooting) in King County. An operation was planned for 04-08-2021 at 1330 hours that included arresting both suspects and serving a search warrant on an apartment in SeaTac. Gun Violence Reduction Unit officers located the suspects and, with assistance of US Marshal Service Task Force officers, conducted a vehicle mobile. The suspects ended up at the apartment for which detectives had a search warrant. SWAT and the Community Response Group locked down the apartment. Just prior to serving the warrant, the suspects surrendered. Robbery detectives searched the apartment and recovered two handguns. Both suspects were booked into the King County Jail. These suspects are responsible for at least two armed robberies in Seattle and involved in at least two shootings in King County.

#2021-85202/West Precinct/Third Watch:

On 04-08-2021 at 2142 hours, while officers were conducting unrelated proactive patrol in the Interbay neighborhood, they observed a suspect pushing a dead pit-bull in a shopping cart near a tent encampment. Officers contacted the suspect who admitted that earlier in the day he was attacked by the dog and after he returned from the hospital, he shot the dog, killing it. Officers arrested the suspect for animal cruelty. A firearm was not located near the scene due the suspect stating his friend had left the area with the gun.
