Officers recovered a stolen handgun, along with heroin and meth, when they arrested a man on Tuesday in the University District for a felony domestic violence warrant.
Police spotted the 27-year-old suspect in an alley in the 4500 block of University Way Northeast and arrested him. They quickly found a loaded handgun—reported stolen in Idaho—in the man’s fannypack. Officers also recovered a fixed-blade knife, baggies of heroin and methamphetamine, and a credit card stolen in a recent car prowl.
Officers booked the suspect, who is a convicted felon and unable to legally possess firearms, into the King County Jail for narcotics possession, possession of a stolen firearm, unlawful possession of a firearm, and his $100,000 felony warrant.
