#2021-113773/South Precinct/Third Watch:

On 05-10-2021 at 0152 hours, a collision was broadcast in which the car caught fire. SPD, Seattle Fire, and Fire Marshal responded. The driver of the vehicle was reported to be on scene. Upon officer arrival they found that no collision occurred. The “driver” turned out to be a male with a history of mental health issues and arson. Marshal called the fire an arson. The suspect was holding lighters and was standing directly across the street from the fire. The suspect was fixated on the car that caught fire, claimed his grandmother (who was in “heaven”) started the fire with a match. Later, the suspect claimed a 60-year-old woman started the fire then changed her clothes in the street and dashed away into the bushes. Officers were able to determine the suspect was more likely than not to have committed the crime. No one was injured. The suspect was taken to the hospital and a report was written, listing the suspect as having committed the crime of arson. The SPD’s Arson Bomb Squad screened the incident over the phone.

#2021-113951/West Precinct/First Watch:

On 05-10-2021 at 0835 hours, officers responded to an assault call in the 1500 block of 3 Av and located the suspect. While officers were arresting the first suspect, a second suspect struck an officer in the face causing a minor injury. The second suspect was taken into custody without reportable force and booked into the King County Jail for investigation of Assault. The first suspect was booked into KCJ for Assault 4. Seattle Fire responded and treated the officer at the West Precinct. Hazard report completed.

#2021-114116/South Precinct/Second Watch:

On 05-10-2021 at 1243 hours, a road rage incident resulted in two vehicles colliding, one subject being sprayed with a fire extinguisher, and a second subject firing off a pistol. There were no injuries. One of the vehicles stopped at the scene and was contacted by officers. The second involved vehicle fled the scene. A pistol and a fire extinguisher were recovered.

#2021-114195/East Precinct/Second Watch:

On 05-10-2021 at 1500 hours, officers responded to the 2300 block of Lake Washington Blvd to a reported car prowl and harassment. Officer contacted the victim, who stated that they returned to their vehicle to find an unknown suspect reaching into their vehicle through a recently broken window. When the victim approached the suspect, the suspect shoved the victim back and implied that he had a gun, stating, “you’ll be sorry when I shoot you.” The suspect got into a vehicle a left the scene. Officers found that at least seven vehicles were broken into at that location and recovered stolen luggage. The stolen luggage was later returned to the owners, who were victims of a car prowl from a different lot.

#2021-114395/South Precinct/Second Watch:

On 05-10-2021 at 1839 hours, a suspect broke into an occupied residence. Officers responded to the scene and a foot pursuit ensued. The subject was arrested. An officer suffered an injury during the arrest.

#2021-114538/North Precinct/Third Watch:

On 05-10-2021 at 2152 hours, a male victim was walking in the Safeway Store parking lot when he was approached by two suspects. One of the suspects pointed a handgun at the victim’s face and said something that the victim didn’t understand. The suspect than pistol whipped the victim in the head, knocking him to the ground. The suspects attempted to take the victim’s wallet and cell phone, but the victim was able to fend them off. The suspects than kicked the downed victim in the head several times before running off. An area check was conducted but the suspects were not located. Robbery was contacted and will conduct follow up investigations.
