#2021-142644/North Precinct/Second Watch:

On 06-09-2021 at 1125 hours, officers responded to an attempted bank robbery at the Alaska US Federal Credit Union, located at 11100 Roosevelt Way NE. The suspect entered the bank with a piece of clothing wrapped around his arm. While pointing his arm at bank employees, he claimed to be armed with a gun. The bank employees retreated to a secured room and called 911. The suspect went outside and was apprehended by responding officers. The suspect was not armed with a firearm. The suspect was booked for Robbery in the First Degree. Robbery Task force detectives responded to the scene.

#2021-142726/West Precinct/Second Watch:

On 06-09-2021 at 1247 hours, a suspect walked into the Post Office, lit a device using open flame, and threw it onto the floor. Patrol and Seattle Fire responded. The suspect was located in a nearby tent and was eventually taken into custody with the assistance of the SPD’s Hostage Negotiation Team, and later booked for arson. Arson Bomb Squad detectives, ATF, and Postal Police responded to assist with the investigation. ABS will handle the follow-up.

#2021-143035/South Precinct/Second Watch:

On 06-09-2021 at 1845 hours, officers arrested a suspect during a shoplift operation. The suspect attempted to spit on the officers and mule kicked one officer while being controlled. The suspect was booked in King County Jail. The officers were uninjured.

#2021-143201/East Precinct/Third Watch:

On 06-09-2021 at 2140 hours, officers responded to a business alarm in the 1900 block of E Madison St. As officers were investigating, the alarm went off again. A female suspect exited the building wearing a t-shirt belonging to the business. The suspect was detained. The suspect had three outstanding felony warrants for her arrest for burglary. The suspect was booked into King County jail for her warrants and investigation of burglary.

#2021-143281/West Precinct/Third Watch:

On 06-09-2021 at 2344 hours, officers responded to the report of a man who had been stabbed at 3rd Av/Yesler Way. The victim had a deep stab wound to his upper left chest/shoulder. Officers learned that the stabbing likely occurred in City Hall Park in the tent encampment. The victim was taken to Harborview with non-life-threatening injuries. Homicide Sergeant was consulted. Patrol processed the scene.
