#2021-147846/Southwest Precinct/Third Watch: On 6-14-2021 at 2004 hours, the victims responded to an “Offer Up” ad to purchase a vehicle. They agreed to meet the sellers in a parking lot near 12th Avenue Southwest and Southwest Webster Street. While communicating with the seller via the app, a vehicle pulled into the parking lot. Three suspects exited the vehicle and approached the victims. Two suspects pointed handguns at the victims while demanding cash and other items of value. During the robbery, one of the suspects fired two shots in the air before they got back into their vehicle and fled the scene. The victim followed the suspect vehicle northbound at a high rate of speed. During the vehicle chase, a suspect fired additional shots from the moving vehicle. The suspect vehicle almost collided with an uninvolved vehicle, drove off the roadway and then continued fleeing the scene. The victim lost sight of the suspect vehicle and eventually pulled over to call 911. Officers had responded to the initial scene to investigate multiple 911 reports of vehicles speeding, and shots being fired. An area check was conducted with negative results for the suspects/vehicle. Several witnesses were contacted, and video evidence was collected. The Robbery Unit was notified and will conduct the follow-up investigation.
