#2021-174009/East Precinct/Third Watch:
On 07-10-2021 @ 0023 hours, the victims were walking southbound near E Howell St and Belmont Ave when they were robbed by three males armed with handguns. One of the suspects grabbed a victim’s arm and said, “give me all of your shit or we’re gonna start shooting.” Another suspect turned the victims around to show that the group of bandits were all armed, then said, “we’re not kidding.” The victims handed over their property, including cellphones. The suspects fled in a silver or grey sedan. Officers attempted to track the victim’s phone but were unsuccessful. Officers conducted an area check with negative results.
#2021-174427/East Precinct/Third Watch:
On 07-10-2021 at 0215 hours, officers responded to calls of shots fired in the area of the 10 Av E and E Mercer St. At that time officer were unable to locate the incident. Over the course of the day, evidence of a shooting was recovered by officers. One witness had evidence of the suspect involved in the shooting. At 1242 hours, a victim reported that her bedroom window was damaged, and she located a bullet on her bedroom floor. The victim did not believe that she was targeted.
#2021-174148/East Precinct/First Watch:
On 07-10-2021 at 0358 hours, officers were dispatched to a report of a male throwing debris on the freeway. The caller reported seeing the suspect hit a semi that had passed by with a rock. Washington State Patrol arrived and located a possible suspect. SPD officers assisted WSP and attempted to identify him using the mobile fingerprint reader, but he failed to comply. WSP took custody of the suspect who was going to get booked for malicious mischief.
#2021-174160/South Precinct/First Watch:
On 07-10-2021 at 0433 hours, officers responded to an in-progress burglary at Rookies Sports Bar, located at 3820 S Ferdinand St. The owner reported the crime and advised he was watching the suspect via a live security camera feed. Officers arrived on scene and discovered the front door of the business was damaged and forced open. They heard power tools being used and the owner advised the suspect was trying to cut into a safe. Officers contained the building and announced their presence at the front door. Officers observed the suspect moving inside business towards the kitchen area, ignoring police commands, and refusing to surrender. Officers established an entry team, utilizing a long gun as point, and conducted a slow and methodical building search. The suspect was located hiding in the kitchen and was taken into custody. Upon search incident to arrest the suspect was found to be in possession of several bank bags of money, which were verified stolen from the safe, after the suspect cut a hole in the side of the safe with a portable power saw. The suspect also was in possession of a halligan type breaching tool, extra batteries for the saw, and other various burglary tools. The suspect is a prolific burglar and also had outstanding felony warrants for burglary and escape. The suspect was booked into King County Jail for burglary.
#2021-174167/South Precinct/First Watch:
On 07-10-2021 at 0447 hours, a male reported a suspect was attempting to steal his motorcycle out of a locked storage area in the 3100 Block of Airport Way S. Officers arrived and took the suspect into custody during the commission of the crime. Search incident to arrest, officers located a large amount of multiple different types of drugs/narcotics in his property. Suspect was booked into King County Jail for burglary, auto-theft, and possession with intent to deliver. Type 1 Use of Force investigation completed.
#2021-174823/South Precinct/Third Watch:
On 07-10-2021 at 2043 hours, officers were dispatched to a person passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle. The responding officers recognized the described vehicle as being involved in a shooting incident, as well as eluding incidents involving the Gun Violence Reduction Unit and CRG units. The officers contacted detectives as they were responding to this incident and obtained information that the subject in the vehicle had felony warrants for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and probable cause existed for Assault 1st Degree. The officers coordinated pinning the suspect vehicle to prevent the suspect from again eluding police. The officers successfully pinned the vehicle while the suspect was still passed out in the driver’s seat. The suspect awoke and attempted to use his vehicle to push the patrol vehicles and escape. The suspect vehicle was tightly pinned and would not move, so the suspect fled on foot. After a short foot pursuit, the suspect was apprehended. The suspect was later booked for DUI-Physical control, a felony warrant, and Assault 1st Degree. The suspect’s vehicle was impounded pending a search warrant.
#2021-174824/Southwest Precinct/Third Watch:
On 07-10-2021 at 2043 hours, officers responded to a Seattle Housing Authority building located in the Morgan Junction neighborhood to a report of a fight. Upon arrival, officers contacted the 80-year-old victim who said his downstairs neighbor had confronted him at his residence regarding noise–the neighbor was holding a knife in his hand. Later, the neighbor/suspect returned (sans knife), and barged his way into the victim’s residence when the victim opened the door. The suspect grabbed the victim and pushed him into a wall and furniture. Officers developed probable cause and subsequently arrested the suspect at his apartment for Burglary.
#2021-174927/East Precinct/Third Watch:
On 07-10-2021 at 2243 hours, a witness reported a suspect shooting out of a vehicle in the intersection of 24th Ave S/S Dearborn St. The occupants appeared to be shooting south at an unknown target. The suspects fled eastbound on S Dearborn St. Officers collected evidence of a shooting in the roadway and recovered other evidence. The Gun Violence Reduction Unit was advised of this incident.
#2021-174969/North Precinct/Third Watch:
On 07-10-2021 at 2333 hours, officers responded to an alarm call. The reporting party had audio inside the building and could hear someone inside. This location had been burglarized the day before. Upon arrival officers saw a suspect inside the building. Patrol set up containment, formed a team, and searched the building. Two suspects were located hiding on the roof of the building. The suspects were taken into custody without incident and booked into the King County Jail for Investigation of Burglary. Patrol processed the scene.
