On 07-11-2021 at 2249 hours, patrol responded to the vicinity of 36 AV S/S Adams St in response to a shots call. Upon arrival, officers located evidence of a shooting but no victims or property damage were located. Approximately 2 hours later, officers were contacted by North Precinct patrol regarding their own investigation (SPD # 2021-175998), in which it was reported that the same suspect had perpetrated both offenses, and a welfare check was being requested related to the event. Prior to completing the welfare check, officers were dispatched to a report of a gunshot wound (GSW) victim back at the 36 AV S scene (SPD # 2021-176031). This investigation was peculiar in that the time and proximity suggest it was related to the original call, however indications at the scene strongly suggested that this GSW was self-inflicted, and the victim alleged that the shooting had just occurred (nearly two hours later). While officers were following the AMR to Harborview Medical Center, they observed the suspect vehicle related to the North Precinct incident (2021-175998). Officers eventually facilitated a stop of the vehicle, and the suspect was taken into custody. The originally requested welfare check was also completed, however the provided name and apartment number could not be located.
