Police seized two stolen guns in two separate incidents Sunday.
Around 10:30 PM Sunday night, officers responded to the 6500 block of Rainier Avenue South after two men became involved in a dispute, leading the suspect to threaten the victim and drive away in the victim’s car. As officers were speaking to the victim, the victim pointed down the street at the suspect, as he drove past them in the victim’s car.
Officers stopped the car a short distance away, detained the driver, and found a stolen handgun under the driver’s seat.
Police booked the 39-year-old suspect—who is a convicted felon and unable to legally possess firearms—into the King County Jail for robbery, harassment, and unlawful possession of a firearm.
Earlier in the day, around 1 PM, police arrested a suspect in a domestic violence incident at an apartment near Denny Park. During the arrest, officers recovred suspected methamphetamine, a scale, cash, pill cutters, and a stolen gun, believed to belong to the suspect.
During the arrest, the suspect experienced a medical issue, apparently related to a preexisting condition, and was taken to Harborview Medical Center and put under guard until he could be booked in jail.
