Man Shot and Wounded in New Holly Robbery

Detectives are investigating after a 21-year-old man was shot and wounded in a robbery in the New Holly neighborhood early this morning.

Shortly after midnight, the 21-year-old and a 23-year-old man were exiting the Chief Sealth Trail near 32ndAvenue South and South Brighton Street when three masked men pulled up on the street in a silver van. The men in the van then shouted for the victims to come over to their vehicle. 

When the victims declined, one of the masked men got out of the van, approached the victims and demanded their wallets. The suspect then attacked the victims.

The two other suspects got out of the van and joined the fight. During the struggle, one of the suspects pulled out a handgun and shot the 21-year-old victim in the arm.

The three suspects then returned to their van and fled the scene.

Officers responded to the scene and provided medical aid until to the victims before Seattle Fire Department medics transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center.
