#2021-230094/West Precinct/First Watch:

On 09-03-2021 at 0415 hours, officers responded to a report of a ‘person upside down on barriers…’. Subject was deceased and left on scene by Seattle Fire. Due to the unusual positioning of the body, Homicide was consulted and responded. King County Medical Examiner arrived on scene, and in consultation with on scene Homicide, made a preliminary determination the subject died of either age or overdose. Scene processed.

#2021-230214/East Precinct/First Watch:

On 09-03-2021 at 0755 hours, the suspect entered the store, meandered a few minutes, selected several pieces of merchandise and walked to a different part of the store. Concerned store employees attempted to engage him in conversation as they saw him rifling through his backpack. The suspect produced a serrated kitchen knife and brandished it at the employees. Without saying anything, the suspect took the merchandise and exited the store. An extensive area check was conducted with negative results.

#2021-230313/West Precinct/First Watch:

On 09-03-2021 at 1011 hours, officers responded to a report of a female throwing rocks at staff and then walking away. Investigation revealed the manager of the business sent two employees outside to ask the suspect to move away from the door because she was smoking a cigarette. Suspect became agitated and yelled profanities, followed by a sexual orientation slur towards one of the employees. Suspect threatened to spit on this employee. Employee felt he was targeted due to his perceived orientation. Lt. notified.

#2021-230316/West Precinct/First Watch:

On 09-03-2021 at 1015 hours, officers responded to the downtown Target for a report of a pepper spray incident. Upon investigation, a suspect had attempted to shoplift and when questioned by a store Loss Prevention Officer (LPO), presented a small canister of pepper spray and stared at the LPO. The LPO backed off and the suspect exited the store with the merchandise. Suspect was located a short distance away with the merchandise and taken into custody. During the arrest screening, the suspect alleged that the LPO used a racial slur towards her. The LPO denied using the slur. Lt. notified.

#2020-249441/West Precinct/Second Watch:

On 09-03-2021 at 1920 hours, SPD Narcotics developed information regarding the location of a VUCSA Homicide Warrant suspect. Officers responded to the location and staged near the residence. After several hours, the suspect was observed on foot and taken into custody without incident. The warrant was verified, and the suspect was transported to the West Precinct where he was interviewed by detectives.

#2021-230909/North Precinct/Third Watch:

On 09-03-2021 at 2104 hours, a homeowner called 911 saying they heard 2 shots and found holes in 2 windows and an interior mirror. Evidence was gathered at the scene. Gun Violence Reduction Unit was contacted and updated regarding the incident. Suspect/vehicle were not located.

#2021-230997/South Precinct/Third Watch:

On 09-02-2021 at 2252 hours, a call came in of a vehicle vs pedestrian collision. Over the course of investigating this incident, it was discovered that the suspect, while driving a stolen vehicle (stolen out of N.PCT area 21-230709) deliberately crushed the victim between the stolen car he was driving and another vehicle that the victim was standing outside of while talking to someone inside of it. The suspect was unable to drive away so he exited and fled on foot. An extensive K9 track was performed but the suspect was not located. The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center via Medic One with extensive but reportedly non-life-threatening injuries. The stolen vehicle was subsequently recovered, sealed, and followed to the Lincoln Tow Yard as evidence. This incident was screened via Homicide/Assault.
