#2021-235033/Southwest Precinct/Third Watch:

On 09-08-2021 at 0033 hours, officers responded to reports of male shooting a handgun in the 800 Block of S Southern St. Upon arrival, officers discovered that an unknown suspect fired multiple shots into an occupied residence. The suspect was gone upon officers’ arrival and not located. Officers recovered evidence of a shooting in front of the residence. Gun Violence Reduction Unit screened the call. Patrol processed the scene.

#2021-235056/Southwest Precinct/Third Watch:

On 09-08-2021 at 0135 hours, officers responded to the 4200 block of SW Dawson ST to a report of a female that had been shot. A green Infiniti that had been taken in a carjacking on 09/06/21 occupied by five people rolled into the block. An altercation occurred between one occupant of the car and two residents of a nearby apartment. The suspect (known to the victim) fired one round, striking the victim in the pelvis. The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center in stable condition.

#2021-234364/South Precinct/Second Watch:

On 09-08-2021 at 1300 hours, Major Crimes Task Force Detectives conducted an operation with the assistance of Patrol Officers that lead to the arrest of one suspect. The investigation is ongoing.

#2021-235760/North Precinct/Second Watch:

On 09-08-2021 at 1732 hours, officers were dispatched to NE 53 and Roosevelt Way Ne for a report of a male who was armed with a handgun and pointing it at his head. Officers responded, diverting traffic and formed a contact team. The contact team began to approach. While approaching, the male was observed placing the handgun in his waistband then in a backpack laying on the ground. The subject complied with verbal commands given by the contact team. The subject was detained, and it was determined that he was having a mental health episode and met criteria for an Involuntary Commitment. A black Glock handgun was recovered from the subject’s backpack and placed into evidence. The subject was transported to the hospital for treatment. Type 1 Use of Force.

#2021-235826/North Precinct/Second Watch:

On 09-08-2021 at 1900 hours, a patrol unit took a report of a carjacking (Robbery) in the North Precinct area at approximately 1740 (#2021-235747). At approximately 1900hrs two officer units observed the suspect vehicle taken in the robbery in the area of N 85th St/Aurora Av N. The driver appeared to be dealing drugs from the vehicle. On spotting officers, the suspect began driving out of the area. When signaled to stop, the carjacking suspect attempted to elude officers, leading them on a short pursuit. The suspect tried to negotiate a curve at excessive speed, losing control of the vehicle and striking an unoccupied parked car. The suspect surrendered and was taken into custody without further incident and was transported to Harborview Medical Center by Seattle Fire for further examination & DUI processing. The carjacked car was impounded for evidence. No police vehicles were damaged, no officers or bystanders injured. The suspect is under guard at HMC and will be booked for multiple charges including Robbery and Eluding.

#2021-235921/South Precinct/Third Watch:

On 09-08-2021 at 2015 hours, the Gun Violence Reduction Unit assisted the U.S. Marshals to locate and arrest the suspect for a drive-by shooting warrant. The suspect was armed with a handgun at the time of arrest. GVRU will follow up on a new weapons charge.

#2021-235784/North Precinct/Third Watch:

On 09-08-2021 at 2340 hours, officers responded to a crisis call where the suspect had barricaded himself inside his own apartment, refusing to come out. After negotiating for 40 minutes, patrol cleared the scene. Later, the suspect started a fire on the balcony of his unit, causing significant damage, then fled the scene. Patrol, Seattle Fire and SPD’s Arson Bomb Squad responded. SFD extinguished the fire and patrol made an extensive search of the building and surrounding area, but the suspect was not located. ABS detectives will handle the follow-up.
