#2021-237420/Southwest Precinct/Second Watch:
On 09-10-2021 at 0843 hours, a school reported a threat with bias elements. The Dean of the school said that a student was the victim of bias comments based on religion. The student did not know if they meant her directly or indirectly and she was too afraid to turn around to identify the students making the comments. The Dean ran it through their legal team and security and determined it was NOT a valid threat. They also assumed the threat was made due to 9-11’s anniversary. Notifications to the Bias Crime Coordinator were made.
#2021-237410/South Precinct/First Watch:
On 09-10-2021 at 0922 hours, neighbors heard loud yelling a couple times in the early morning and called 911. Officers responded and got no answer at the house and did not hear a disturbance. Later a neighbor (victim) calls to report he has video of subject placing a suspicious package on his doorstep. It has a wire leading to the suspect’s house. Officers arrived and evaluated the device to be inert. Containment set up front and back. With the assistance of roommates, suspect was coaxed out to officers, and he was taken into custody without incident for Investigation of Harassment and Violation of Court Order. Crisis Response Team unit was requested in the event the suspect barricaded. Booked into King County Jail.
#2021-236730/West Precinct/Second Watch:
On 09-09-2021 at 1513 hours, officers responded to a possible overdose in a vehicle at 5 AV / Blanchard ST. They located a male and female in the vehicle. Seattle Fire responded and treated the male. It was determined that the vehicle was stolen, and the female driver was arrested. From the suspect, officers recovered a loaded handgun, brass knuckles, spring loaded knife, approx. 50 grams of methamphetamine, 25 fentanyl laden pills and 10 Xanax bars. Major Crimes Task Force Detectives responded to assist and will be handling the follow-up investigation. The suspect was booked into King County Jail for multiple felonies.
#2021-237982/West Precinct/Second Watch:
On 09-10-2021 at 1817 hours, there were three intentional fires set in the alleyways using dumpster materials to start the fires. All the fires occurred between 3rd Avenue and Pike Street and 4th Avenue and Blanchard Street. The fire at 3rd Avenue/ Pike Street (2021-237982) was discovered at 1825 hours. The fire was started at the emergency exit door of an occupied building. Seattle Fire was able to put the fire out and no one was injured. The 4th and Blanchard fire (2021-238055) was discovered at 1817 hours and SFD Fire Marshal was present on the scene and informed officers of the additional fires and stated that all the fires were intentional. SPD’s Arson Bomb Squad was screened.
#2021-238236/Southwest Precinct/Third Watch:
On 09-10-2021 at 2309 hours, a victim contacted police to report that her adult son was in crisis and possibly suicidal. Following an altercation, he barricaded himself inside his apartment in the 1200 blk of SW Holden St. Officers responded to the scene and established that a misdemeanor assault had occurred during the altercation. Patrol resources and Hostage Negotiation Team attempted to establish communication with the subject for several hours with negative results.
