#2021-241629/North Precinct/Second Watch:

On 09-14-2021 at 1118 hours, officers responded to a call of a male in crisis in the University District. The male was delusional and had made repeated comments that he was going to kill himself. Officers contacted the male and determined that ITA criteria were met. AMR arrived to transport the male and while he was being placed in the gurney, he assaulted AMR staff. Officers attempted to restrain the male and three of them were assaulted. A “help the officer” was broadcast. Officers from UWPD and KCSO also responded. Eventually the male was restrained, and Seattle Fire gave him a sedative to calm him down. The suspect was transported to Harborview Medical Center under guard. Once the suspect is released from HMC he is to be booked into King County Jail for Investigation of Assault. Hazard report completed. The officers’ injuries did not require treatment or hospitalization.

#2021-241653/South Precinct/Second Watch:

On 09-14-2021 at 1131 hours, a suspect started damaging vehicles in the SODO District with a metal pole. Nearby, Federal law enforcement officers were flagged down and one officer attempted to detain the suspect. The suspect threw the metal pole at the Federal officer and a fight developed which was broadcast over SPD radio as a “Help the Officer”. Other Federal officers arrived and were able to take the suspect into custody. The original Federal officer was injured, treated at the scene by Seattle Fire, and then transported to the hospital for his injuries. South Patrol officers took over the investigation. The suspect was booked for Investigation of Assault and Malicious Mischief.

#2021-241916/South Precinct/Second Watch:

On 09-14-2021 at 1737 hours, officers completed a multi-day surveillance operation culminating in the arrest of a suspect wanted on a multiple felony charge warrant, recently profiled in a wanted bulletin (#2020-308119). The suspect was located, positively ID’d, and then tracked by surveillance teams to a fuel station in Redmond, WA where arrest teams took him into custody without incident. He was transported and booked into King County Jail.

#2021-242162/North Precinct/Third Watch:

On 09-14-2021 at 2026 hours, the suspect in this incident assaulted an employee in his efforts to retain property stolen from the grocery store, destroyed an employee’s mobile phone, then kicked and damaged a patrol vehicle after being arrested. The arrestee was booked for robbery and malicious mischief.

#2021-242166/East Precinct/Third Watch:

On 09-14-2021 at 2033 hours, officers responded to the area of Broadway E and E Thomas St for a report of a male who just shot at the caller. Officers arrived and located the victim, evidence of a shooting, and a possible suspect nearby. The investigation stalled when the victim was uncooperative and did not want to be part of the investigation, did not want to conduct a show up on the potential suspect, and did not want to assist with any potential prosecution. Officers collected evidence and released the possible suspect. No property damage was located, and no other victims were found. Gun Violence Reduction Unit notified.
