#2021-242341/North Precinct/Third Watch:
On 09-15-2021 at 0127 hours, Seattle Fire Department (SFD) Fire Marshal requested police assistance at a brush fire. Upon arrival, SFD advised of two other fires tonight, in proximity and timeframe to this location. No additional details were available about the previous fires, and no suspect information was available for any of the incidents. Minimal property damage occurred, no persons were injured, and no structures were damaged. SPD’s Arson Bomb Squad was notified.
#2021-242905/East Precinct/Third Watch:
On 09-15-2021 at 1547 hours, a victim called 911 and reported that he was robbed approximately 2 weeks prior at Harvard Av E/E Thomas St. The victim told the responding officer that he believed he was targeted based on his sexual orientation. The victim reported that he did not know his assailants and they are currently still outstanding. An alert email was sent. Lt. screened this incident.
#2021-243179/South Precinct/Third Watch:
On 09-15-2021 at 2110 hours, officers received a call to assist Renton Police as a carjacked vehicle had just fled Renton heading for the Seattle/Rainier Valley area and the suspects were known to be armed. After some additional updates regarding location, units quickly acquired the vehicle which was occupied by 3. The vehicle was cornered inside of the Safeway parking lot at 3900 S Othello St and all 3 suspects were taken into custody without incident. One .45 cal handgun was recovered from a 13-year-old suspect. Renton brought the victim in, who positively identified the 2 primary suspects. Renton took custody of them and handled the vehicle recovery and SPD managed the 13-year-old, who was later released to his mother after YSC failed to answer their phone to screen the arrest. Gun Violence Reduction Unit was notified.
