Man Stabbed In Large Downtown Brawl

One man was stabbed early Friday during a large brawl in downtown Seattle.

Just before 3:30 AM, police received a 911 call about a large fight, followed by a report of a stabbing, in the 1300 block of 1st Avenue.

Police arrived and found the victim, a 31-year-old man sitting with two security guards, who were providing aid to the man.

Officers used additional medical equipment to treat the man’s wounds until Seattle Fire medics arrived and transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

The victim was not immediately able to provide officers with much detail about the incident due to his injuries, but officers learned he had been involved in a 10-person fight in the 1400 block of 2nd Avenue. At some point during the fight, he was stabbed in the back and fled the scene of the melee.

In addition to recovering the knife from the man, officers also found he was carrying a hatchet, which they collected as evidence.

Police are investigating.
