Renton PD, Seattle PD Arrest Three Juvenile Suspects After Armed Carjacking

On Wednesday at about 9:15 p.m., Renton Police Department notified SPD that a car stolen in Renton at gunpoint just 30 minutes prior was now likely in the area of Pritchard Island Beach. SPD officers began searching for the car and soon spotted it just a few blocks away from the South Precinct. Police stopped the car and detained the three occupants.

Renton officers responded to the scene and took custody of the 16-year-old driver and 15-year-old front passenger in relation to the carjacking. When the rear passenger exited the car, police found a loaded gun in his waistband. Renton officers seized the gun as evidence for their carjacking case.

Seattle officers took custody of the subject that had been carrying the gun, who was 13 years old. Police released the 13-year-old suspect to his mother, and requested charges for unlawful possession of a firearm.
