#2021-245450/Southwest Precinct/Third Watch:

On 09-18-2021 at 0056 hours, officers responded to a retirement home regarding a suspect who broke into an occupied bedroom window. On arrival, officers learned that the suspect shattered an exterior window and gained access to the victim’s bedroom. The suspect then fled out the front door after being confronted and into the interior of the building. The suspect attempted to gain access to more occupied rooms as he moved down the hallway, until he was able to gain access to another occupied room. Officers, who were actively searching for the suspect, heard the victim calling for help inside. Officers were able to gain access to the room and the suspect was taken into custody and booked into King County Jail for investigation of burglary. There were no injuries to any victims.

#2021-245476/Southwest Precinct/Third Watch:

On 09-18-2021 at 0200 hours, dispatch received a call regarding a male with a gun who was going to shoot people in the 8600 Block of 14 AV S. On arrival, officers located a male victim with a single gunshot wound to his right leg. The victim was uncooperative and refused to provide any details regarding the shooting. The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center via Seattle Fire. Evidence of a shooting was located and submitted to evidence. There were no witnesses located. While on scene, a male suspect was found to be in possession of a concealed firearm with the serial number shaved off and he was taken into custody and booked for VUFA and an SPD misdemeanor warrant for assault. The firearm was impounded into evidence. Gun Violence Reduction Unit screened the call. Patrol processed the scene.

#2021-245762/West Precinct/First Watch:

On 09-18-2021 at 1104 hours, a suspect and victim were drinking together when an argument started. Suspect armed herself with a large folding knife and stabbed victim in the hand. Victim fled the apartment and reported the incident to building management. The manager called 9-1-1. Suspect then came to the manager’s officer and argued with the victim, claiming there was no way to prove she stabbed him since it happened in her apartment where there is no video. Officers arrived, interviewed victim and the manager. They then attempted contact the suspect in her apartment. Suspect did not answer the door, so Hostage Negotiation Team (HNT) was called. While HNT was enroute, officer located and arrested the suspect without incident. Suspect was booked into King County Jail for Assault 2. Victim was treated by fire on scene and refused further medical assistance.

#2021-245790/West Precinct/Second Watch:

On 09-18-2021 at 1131 hours, a suspect confronted a victim in line at a local pharmacy over the victim’s service dog. Suspect told victim to get his dog out of the store and verbally harassed the victim based on perceived sexual orientation. The victim told the suspect to leave him alone. A short time later, suspect walked towards victim and intentionally used his shoulder to push the victim. Victim said he was hit in the chest by the suspect and believed that the assault was motivated by his sexual orientation. Suspect then left the area and was not located by officers. Notifications sent.

#2021-246128/North Precinct/Second Watch:

On 09-18-2021 at 1821 hours, a subject was naked and walking in and out of traffic on Aurora Ave N. Officers located the subject walking through a residential neighborhood several blocks away. The subject was incoherent at the time of contact. The subject climbed onto a patrol car before officers were able to detain him. The subject was then treated at the scene by fire before medics escorted him to the hospital for further evaluation. This incident was screened by Lt.

#2021-246095/East Precinct/Second Watch:

On 09-18-2021 at 1930 hours, officers responded to Cal Anderson Park for a male possibly discharging a firearm in the vicinity of the soccer fields. Upon arrival, officers immediately identified the suspect involved and detained him for further investigation. During the investigation it was determined the weapon was a spring-loaded pistol, and the suspect did fire it several times within the perimeter of the park. The suspect was taken into custody and booked into King County Jail for SMC 12A.14.083 Weapons in Public Places as well as SMC 12A.14.080 Unlawful Use of Weapons due to large knife on his person.
