#2021-246792/North Precinct/Second Watch:
On 09-20-2021 at 1333 hours, a suspect from robbery in case #2021-246792 was observed in the area of 11 NW and Leary Way. Officers made contact with the subject and detained him after a brief foot pursuit. The robbery victims were able to respond to the scene and positively identify the suspect. Suspect booked into King County Jail. Robbery and DOC notified.
#2021-248112/West Precinct/Second Watch:
On 09-20-2021 at 1837 hours, a suspect entered the Safeway on lower Queen Anne several times causing disturbances. A store employee finally confronted the suspect, directing him to leave the store. The suspect made a derogatory comment about employee’s race, threatened to assault the employee, and spit in the employee’s face. The suspect also threatened the store cashiers. The store employee and a customer subdued the suspect, who struck and bit them. The suspect sustained injuries when the employee and customer defended themselves. The suspect also had some pre-existing injuries. The suspect ran from the store but was quickly apprehended by responding officers. The suspect continued to make threats and use the same racial derogatory term (apparently still referencing the store employee), while in custody. The suspect was arrested and booked for the Hate Crime and Assaults. The suspect also had an active DOC felony warrant, which the jail would not accept.
#2021-248249/West Precinct/Third Watch:
On 09-20-2021 at 2130 hours, radio broadcast numerous calls coming in regarding a vehicle being operated extremely recklessly throughout the Belltown neighborhood, striking multiple vehicles along the way. As officers were responding to the area, the suspect vehicle slammed into a building, coming to a stop near 2nd Ave & Denny Way. During the investigation it was determined the driver committed 5 counts of hit-and-run (3 occupied and 2 unoccupied) and was likely DUI. Several victims sustained minor injuries, and the suspect was taken to Harborview Medical Center for treatment, as well as the DUI blood draw. He was subsequently booked into King County Jail for his crimes.
