On 09-23-2021 at 1306 hours, a Water Taxi employee called 911 to report a possible suicidal subject threatening to jump from the boat into the Puget Sound. The caller indicated the subject was treated by Seattle Fire earlier in the morning for seizures but declined further medical treatment and remained in the area of the Water Taxi dock. The subject also suffers from a TBI and was reportedly not taking prescribed medications. Prior to police arrival, the subject jumped into the water and would not exit. Officers arrived and requested SFD response as the subject refused to exit the water and was swimming towards deeper water. After approximately one hour or being in the water, the subject went unconscious and SFD was able to remove her from the water. The subject was eventually secured in an AMR and transported to a local hospital for an emergent detention. This was a significant SFD/SPD response, and the event caused a delay in Water Taxi services effecting an unknown number of patrons.
