#2021-259075/West Precinct/First Watch:

On 10-01-2021 at 0635 hours, officers were dispatched to a threat call involving a knife at a local coffee shop. Prior to arrival, the suspect fled the scene and engaged in more threatening behavior at a different coffee shop. The suspect was known to officers to be a prolific offender that has been involved in threatening behaviors, assaults, and thefts from several local downtown businesses. Emphasis units located the suspect a short time later and coordinated with patrol to safely arrest the armed suspect. The suspect was booked into King County Jail for Investigation of harassment (X2) and Investigation of burglary. The knife was placed into evidence.

#2021-259709/Southwest Precinct/Third Watch:

On 10-01-2021 at 1045 hours, officers were working the high school football game at 2600 SW Thistle St. The game ended, but there were many people gathered on the football field. Officers saw a fight break out between two subjects. Officers contacted the subjects, and more fights broke out in succession. With the assistance of school staff, officers were able to get the crowd under control and break up the fights. The fights appeared to be mutual, and the scene was chaotic. Officers collected information from some of the subjects involved. Officers took photos, completed a report and statements.

#2021-259489/Southwest Precinct/Second Watch:

On 10-01-2021 at 1357 hours, officers responded to 94oo block of 36 AV SW for a 911 call regarding a male walking into the street brandishing a rifle. Upon arrival, officers located the subject with a gun in his right hand. The responding officers ordered the suspect to drop the handgun. The suspect raised the handgun and pointed it at 3 police officers and said “fuck off”. Suspect then retreated into his house. Officers were informed the suspect may have dementia, schizophrenia, and an alcoholic. Hostage Negotiation Team and SWAT arrived on scene. A search warrant was obtained, and after a long standoff, SWAT was able to take the suspect into custody. The suspect was booked to King County Jail for Investigation of Felony Harassment for knowingly threatening to cause bodily injury to 3 victim police officers by pointing a gun at them multiple times. A pistol was recovered and placed into evidence.

#2021-259596/North Precinct/Second Watch:

On 10-01-2021 at 1525 hours, a woman who appeared to be in crisis entered the Chase bank in Ballard. After entering, she yelled, “This is a stickup! Give me all your money!” She looked at a teller and said, “I’m serious, bitch.” She then approached an elderly female customer inside the bank and said, “Give me all the stuff in your purse.” The customer refused to comply. The bank manager contacted the suspect and was able to get her to leave the bank. No weapons seen or implied. Robbery responded to the scene to direct the investigation.
