#2021-260096/North Precinct/Third Watch:
On 10-02-2021 at 0034 hours, Seattle Children’s Hospital ER staff called 9-1-1 after an adult gunshot wound victim arrived at their location. The preliminary investigation revealed a road rage incident occurred on westbound SR 520, and escalated when the driver of the suspect vehicle fired shots. One of the four occupants in the victim vehicle was struck by gunfire and sustained a non-life-threatening injury to his leg. State Patrol was advised, and SPD took a courtesy report and collected evidence on their behalf. The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center for medical treatment.
#2021-260255/West Precinct/First Watch:
On 10-02-2021 at 0653 hours, officers were dispatched to a burglary of a restaurant on Queen Anne Hill. Patrol quickly arrived and surrounded the building. The suspect was ordered to exit, which he did and was taken into custody. Several burglary tools were located on his person, including the punched lock from the business front door. The suspect was placed in custody and booked for Investigation of Burglary.
#2021-260325/East Precinct/First Watch:
On 10-02-2021 at 0900 hours, officers were dispatched to 700 Minor Av (Swedish first hill) regarding a gunshot victim who just showed up to the hospital. Officers arrived on scene and met with the victim who was not cooperative. The only information provided to officers was that he was a dog park in Seattle near the Puget Sound when he intervened in a DV and was shot once in the hand. The victim would not provide officers with his name and gave the hospital a false name as well.
#2021-253042/North Precinct/First Watch:
On 09-25-2021 a suspect was observed drawing swastikas and writing racial slurs on several vehicles in the area of the 9200 Block of Mary Ave NW. A “Please Identify” bulletin was put out on 09-28-2021 showing the suspect who had committed the crimes. On 10-02-2021 a witness to the crimes called 911 while several neighbors detained the suspect. Officers arrived and developed probable cause to arrest the subject. Bias crimes coordinator notified.
#2021-260635/Southwest Precinct/Second Watch:
On 10-02-2021 at 1539 hours, East Precinct officers responded to 10 Ave / E Pike St for a report of a recently stolen vehicle. Officers investigated and verified the stolen vehicle status. They began giving updates on the vehicle whereabouts via a tracking device and the vehicle continued to eluded officers, last seen entering I-5. At 1622 hours, the vehicle was eventually tracked to a gas station in the Southwest Precinct and SW Patrol responded to conduct an area check. Upon finding the vehicle, offices began a high risk stop. The suspect began ramming the unoccupied patrol vehicles and the gas station building in an effort to further evade arrest but had to stop when the vehicle became disabled. Officers contacted the subject and took him into custody. Type II Use of Force was reported due to an injury the suspect indicated he had sustained during the arrest. The suspect was later processed for DUI and booked for Auto Theft, Malicious Mischief, Eluding and requested charges for the DUI and violation of a court order. A passenger, identified as both witness/victim gave a statement and was released from the scene.
#2021-260586/North Precinct/Second Watch:
On 10-02-2021 at 1843 hours, officers responded to the 1700 block of Nw 58 St, where a woman reported that an unknown man was shattering car windows with a metal pipe and throwing rocks. Officers located that suspect a short distance away after having developed probable cause to place him under arrest and having her positively identify him. However, the suspect became combative and kicked at officers, striking one in the knee, and punching another in the face. He was ultimately taken into custody and booked into King County Jail for Investigation of Malicious Mischief, Harassment, and Assault 3. Seattle Fire screened everyone’s status, urging one officer to seek treatment at a Hospital. FIT and Homicide were notified.
#2021-260931/West Precinct/Third Watch:
On 10-02-2021 at 2145 hours, multiple persons flagged down a uniformed supervisor in the Pioneer Square area to report a man brandishing a firearm in a public parking lot. Probable cause was established for felony harassment and other units arrived to assist in the arrest. Patrol resources and uniformed nightlife emphasis units arrested the suspect and detained his armed companion. CRG units arrived and assisted with scene security. There were multiple agitated bystanders being confrontational with officers on scene. No officers were injured during this incident.
