#2021-261181/East Precinct/First Watch:
On 10-03-2021 at 0410 hours, the victim (an outdoor vendor) was cleaning up at the end of the day when he was approached by two suspects. The suspects stole cash and a loaded firearm from the vendor’s pocket. One suspect engaged in a physical fight with the victim to allow the other to flee into a vehicle. The vehicle returned to pick up the fighting suspect. Area check was negative.
#2021-261322/South Precinct/First Watch:
On 10-03-2021 at 0900 hours, a female victim had gone to a local BECU ATM and withdrew $100. Suspect approached her, displayed a handgun, and demanded $200. The weapon was pointed at the ground after the initial display. Scared by the circumstances, the victim withdrew another $200 and handed over $300. Suspect then fled to his vehicle with the cash driving away westbound on Columbian way S from MLK JR WY S. Victim did notice a door on the suspect vehicle was a different color than the rest of the vehicle. Victim then called 911. Units were diverted from another call to this call. Suspect had 13 minutes of travel time in his vehicle due to 7 min delay in calling 911 and 1st arriving unit on scene. Area check for suspect and vehicle was negative.
#2021-261423/West Precinct/Second Watch:
On 10-03-2021 at 1156 hours, a caller reported hearing a large explosion then seeing a fire in an encampment. Seattle Fire arrived on scene and put out the fire. Officers found one tent destroyed along with its contents. No one was injured, and no victim (owner of tent) was located. Witnesses said they saw a man who was not the tent’s resident in the tent immediately prior to the fire. Once witnesses noticed the fire, the man ran from the encampment and was not identified. Arson Bomb Squad notified.
#2021-261633/East Precinct/Second Watch:
On 10-03-2021 at 1609 hours, the victim was meeting the suspect inside the Seattle University parking garage, expecting to buy a used MacBook laptop from the suspect. However, the suspect brandished an electrical stun baton and robbed the victim. The suspect successfully took approximately $750 from the victim and fled up stair in the multistory garage while the victim was calling 911. Patrol units arrived within minutes after the call was broadcasted and they quickly set up containment around the parking garage building. K9 was requested but none was available. Officers formed a contact team and searched the structure, but no suspect was located. At the time of this writing, the suspect was still outstanding.
#2021-261880/South Precinct/Third Watch:
On 10-03-2021 at 2132 hours, a male, 20-30YS, 5’8/SMALL BUILD, WHI JKT, BLK PANTS walked into a convenience store in the Rainier Valley and robbed the store. The suspect was armed with a handgun. The suspect stole some cash and the victim’s cell phone and left the store. Patrol and K9 responded but were unable to locate the suspect. Officers processed the scene. Robbery Unit notified.
