Police arrested a man in SODO after he stabbed another man in the back multiple times on Tuesday afternoon.
Just before 3:00 p.m., police responded to a stabbing near 8th Avenue South and South Holgate Street. A witness said he saw a man chasing another man and then apparently stabbing him with a sharp object.
Police arrived in the area and found a 34-year-old man with three stab wounds to his back. The victim declined to provide any information about the incident. Seattle Fire Department medics responded to the scene and transported the man to Harborview Medical Center for treatment.
Witnesses at the scene provided officers with a description of the suspect and additional evidence. With that information, officers located and arrested the suspect a few blocks away. Police also recovered a fixed-blade knife believed to be used in the assault.
Officers booked the 45-year-old suspect into King County Jail for assault in the first degree.
