#2021-276876/South Precinct/First Watch:

On 10-19-2021 at 0819 hours, officers responded to a BNSF train derailment at Alaskan Way S/S Atlantic St, after a female was seen changing the track switch. BNSF Police responded to the scene and took custody of the female. SPD Traffic officers assisted with traffic control along E. Marginal Way S. No one was injured in the derailment and traffic resumed normal operations within 30 minutes.

#2021-277201/West Precinct/Second Watch:

On 10-19-2021 at 1341 hours, a suspect entered a gas station, selected numerous items, and left without paying for them. The victim clerk confronted the suspect outside, asking for the stolen items back. The suspect started to pull a handgun out of his pocket. The victim saw the gun and struck the suspect’s wrist with his hand, causing him to drop the gun. The victim picked up the gun and went back inside the store to call 911. The suspect followed the victim, pleading for his gun to be returned. The suspect also tried to exchange the stolen items for the gun. The clerk refused to return the gun and the suspect left on foot. About an hour later, SPD officers located and arrested the suspect at 5 Av W and W Roy St.

#2021-277261/North Precinct/Second Watch:

On 10-19-2021 at 1509 hours, complainant was in his home when he heard a loud noise from outside. He went outside to investigate and did not notice anything amiss. Later he went to his basement and observed a bullet hole in the wall and a bullet on the floor. Evidence showed the bullet entering the home at approximately 1238 hours. The complainant does not have any known enemies. Neighbors did not see or hear anything during that timeframe. The bullet was collected for evidence.

#2021-277529/North Precinct/Third Watch:

On 10-19-2021 at 1959 hours, a female was shot. Officers arrived on scene and learned the victim had been shot in the ankle. The victim was uncooperative. All she said was that the suspects were possibly 3 males who left WB. No witnesses were located. Evidence of a shooting was recovered. The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center where she again refused to cooperate with SPD. K9 responded and ended up doing an evidence search; nothing located. Patrol processed the scene. Gun Violence Reduction Unit was notified.
