Officers recovered a stolen shotgun from a Burien apartment this week after the victims of a Belltown burglary found some of their stolen items posted for sale online.
On November 2nd, the victims called police and said they’d found a unique fishing rod—taken in a burglary days earlier—posted for sale on Offerup.com. The victims also told police the suspects had stolen electronics, tools, and a shotgun.
The victims contacted online sellers and arranged a meet-up. Officers arrived, arrested the suspects—a man and a woman—and recovered the fishing rod. They confirmed one of the suspects had been involved in earlier burglary, and learned the stolen shotgun had likely been left at an apartment in Burien.
Police booked the man and woman into the King County Jail for burglary and trafficking stolen property and obtained a warrant for the Burien apartment.
Officers then served the warrant and recovered the shotgun, electronics, and stolen tools.
