#2021-312033/East Precinct/Third Watch:

On 11-25-2021 at 0038 hours, officers were dispatched to a location in the 800 block of E Pike St for a report of a male threatening multiple callers with a knife. Upon arrival, one victim stated the subject made racial slurs and a comment about the victim’s perceived race. The suspect then threatened to kill the victim with a knife he displayed, and the victim believed this was predicated on the suspect’s perceived view of the victim’s race. The area was checked however the suspect was not located. Bias crime email sent.

#2021-312109/East Precinct/First Watch:

On 11-25-2021 at 0408 hours, officers were dispatched to multiple reports of shots fired in the area of 24 Ave S and S Norman St. Officers arrived on scene and located evidence confirming shots were fired. Officers located evidence of a shooting in the roadway. No victims were located nor was any property damage found.

#2021-312156/East Precinct/First Watch:

On 11-25-2021 at 0537 hours, officers were dispatched to a report of a shooting. Upon arrival officers met with the victim who reported being asleep on the couch of their unit when they heard a gunshot and felt debris from the window hit them. They then located an obvious bullet entry in their kitchen glass door and recovered evidence of a shooting on the ground.

#2021-312173/Southwest Precinct/First Watch:

On 11-25-2021 at 0300 hours, Suspect #1 (S#1) walked in the 7-11 located at the 3200 BLK of SW Avalon Way and demanded a cell phone and cigarettes. The clerk told S#1 no, and he kept demanding the items. The clerk gave S#1 cigarettes, and S#1 left the 7-11. At approximately 0600, S#1 returned to the 7-11 and demanded a cell phone. The clerk told S#1 that he wasn’t going to give him a cell phone. S#1 punched the clerk several times, and Suspect #2 (S#2) entered the 7-11 and grabbed a bottle of wine. The suspects left together in a vehicle. The suspects weren’t located.

#2021-312186/Southwest Precinct/First Watch:

On 11-25-2021 at 0658 hours, a victim received a text from one of his neighbors that someone attempted to steal the catalytic converter from his vehicle. The victim opened his front door to look at his vehicle, and he saw an unknown male at the rear of his car. The suspect pointed a handgun at him and told him to stay there. The victim feared for his safety, so he shut his house door. The suspect/suspects possibly left in a vehicle. The victim’s catalytic converter was hanging from the bottom of his vehicle. Robbery sergeants were notified about the incident.

#2021-312385/West Precinct/Second Watch:

On 11-25-2021 at 1357 hours, officers responded to a 911 call at the Whole Foods store located on Westlake. The suspect attempted to steal a cart full of merchandise from the store. When confronted by staff about the theft, the suspect assaulted staff and armed herself with a tire iron or crowbar that was concealed on her person. Staff backed off and the suspect fled the store with some stolen items. Staff pointed out the suspect to responding officers as she left the scene on foot. Officers arrested the suspect who offered passive resistance by laying on the sidewalk and ignoring instructions from officers. A Type 2 Use of Force was completed due to a minor cut/scrape sustained by the suspect during the arrest. Screened with LT.
