#2021-312899/West Precinct/First Watch:

On 11-26-2021 at 0950 hours, SPD’s Arson Bomb Squad responded to a suspicious package at Amazon HQ. ABS and SFD HAZMAT examined the contents and determined them to be non-hazardous.

#2021-313074/South Precinct/Second Watch:

On 11-26-2021 at 1316 hours, a Waste Management garbage truck rolled backwards down the street hitting multiple vehicles, a power pole, and a house. The driver of the garbage truck was injured and transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Seattle Fire, City Light, and Waste Management responded to the scene.

#2021-313118/West Precinct/Second Watch:

On 11-26-2021 at 1410 hours, a witness called 9-1-1 to report smoke coming from an RV and a woman screaming. Witness said a woman was then seen exiting the RV and yelling that she now had nowhere to live. The woman then walked away from the scene and was not located. The fire burned so hot it caused minor damage to a building on the other side of the street. The RV was burned to the axles. SPD’s Arson Bomb Squad, Seattle Fire Marshal, and the RV remediation unit notified.

#2021-313172/South Precinct/Second Watch:

On 11-26-2021 at 1527 hours, a suspect stole a shopping cart full of crabs. When employees attempted to stop the theft, the suspect implied he had a handgun and told the employees he would “shoot”. The employees scattered away from the suspect. Officers observed the suspect to the north of the crime scene. Officers chased the suspect into a second business. Containment was established, and officers arrested the suspect as he attempted to walk away from the area.

#2021-313035/North Precinct/Second Watch:

On 11-26-2021 at 1609 hours, officers responded to 30th AV NE for an assault. The suspect punched the victim in the face and spit on him before barricading himself in his apartment and throwing items out his window. At one point, a fire alarm was pulled causing an evacuation of the building, also believed to be caused by the suspect based on previous incidents. The suspect refused to come out of his apartment and the victim was not cooperative.

#2021-313287/North Precinct/Second Watch:

On 11-26-2021 at 1756 hours, a woman standing in front of her apartment building in the 110 hundred block of 8 Av Ne was accosted by four young men, who demanded the keys to her vehicle. When she refused, they knocked her to the ground and took her purse, containing her vehicle keys, as well as her wallet’s contents and cell phone. The four young men then drove off southbound in her vehicle. An area check was negative. The victim was uninjured. Sgt in Robbery screened this incident.

#2021-313297/West Precinct/Third Watch:

On 11-26-2021 at 1759 hours, two residents passed each other in the common area of an apartment building. The suspect threatened the victim and made racially biased comments. Probable cause was established for Investigation of Hate Crime. The suspect was not on scene and his location was unknown. Officers staked out the location and spotted the suspect. He was arrested and booked for Felony Hate. Screened with on duty lieutenant.
