Police Arrest Student For Threatening School Shooting on Social Media

Police arrested a 13-year-old boy Monday after he made threats on a social media app to shoot students at his North Seattle middle school.

On Sunday December 5th, police were notified of an online threat of a shooting at Whitman Middle School. Police began investigating and were able to determine the 13-year-old had posted the threat.

At 7 PM Monday, officers arrested the student at his home without incident and booked him into the King County Youth Services Center for investigation of harassment

Police believe there is no active threat at any school but, encourage anyone with questions about school safety to reach out to their local school and inquire about individual safety measures they have in place.
