#2021-332618/Southwest Precinct/Second Watch:

On 12-17-2021 at 1641 hours, officers responded to a report of an assault at a mental health facility located in the 2600 block SW Holden St. During the investigation, it was determined the suspect assaulted two staff members, threatened to kill them, and took property from one. The suspect also used racially biased language directed towards one staff member. The suspect was located by officers and arrested for multiple felony level crimes. He was booked into King County Jail without incident. The victims were evaluated by Seattle Fire and transported to a hospital for further treatment.

#2021-332619/Southwest Precinct/Second Watch:

On 12-17-2021 at 1645 hours, a passerby noticed an unknown person inside a church and reported seeing a “flickering” from within. Upon officers’ arrival, it was discovered the suspect lit an exterior bush on fire, broke a window, entered the church, then lit several small items on fire all within the same room. The suspect had fled the area before police arrived and remains at large. All fires self-extinguished, except for the bush, which Seattle Fire took care of. SPD’s Arson Bomb Squad (ABS) responded to assist with the investigation and collect evidence from the crime scene. ABS detectives will handle the follow-up.

#2021-332691/South Precinct/Second Watch:

On 12-17-2021 at 1832 hours, a female victim was walking near 38 Av S/ S Alaska St when a teenaged male approached the victim from behind and she felt a hard object in her back. The suspect pushed the victim to the ground, and she saw the object was a black handgun and she handed over her handbag. The suspect was described as wearing a surgical mask. He was last seen running NB on 38 Av S and was not located by arriving officers.
