Police Arrest Two, Seize Three Guns During Search Warrant in Renton

Police arrested two suspects and seized three guns after serving a search warrant at a home in Renton on Friday afternoon.

As a part of ongoing robbery and firearms-related investigations, police served a search warrant at a home in the 2600 block of Northeast 23rd St in Renton just after 1:00 p.m. Detectives learned the primary suspect in the warrant was in possession of firearms, which is prohibited because he is a convicted felon. He is also a person of interest in multiple armed robberies in King County.

After members of SPD’s SWAT team took two men in the home into custody, members of the ATF Crime Gun Task Force, SPD’s Gun Violence Reduction Unit Detectives, and Robbery Detectives from SPD, Renton and King County Sherriff’s Office served the search warrant.

Officers seized two handguns and a short-barreled rifle, and recovered additional evidence related to multiple robberies that are still under investigation.

The 18-year-old primary suspect was arrested for unlawful possession of firearms. Detectives will continue to investigate his possible involvement in armed robberies in the area.

The second, 20-year-old subject that was in the home at the time of the warrant service was arrested for his involvement in an armed robbery at a cannabis shop in South Seattle earlier this month.

Officers booked both men into King County Jail.
