#2022-025538/Southwest Precinct/Third Watch:

On 01-31-2022 at 0117 hours, officers responded to a shooting call near the intersection of Delridge Way SW and SW Trenton ST. Callers reported hearing multiple gun shots. A few minutes later, the victim called 911 and advised his vehicle had been struck by gun fire as he was turning onto SW Trenton ST from Delridge Way SW. The rear of the victim’s vehicle had been struck approximately three times. The victim could only provide that the vehicle was dark in color. There were no injuries. Officers located evidence of a shooting near the intersection of Delridge Way SW and SW Trenton St. Gun Violence Reduction Unit advised. Patrol processed the scene.

#2022-025771/South Precinct/First Watch:

On 01-31-2022 at 0854 hours, officers were dispatched to a reported disturbance with the suspect yelling racial slurs in South Seattle. Officers arrived and contacted the victim. The victim advised that threats of harm were made towards him, and the specific threat included racist language. The suspect was located in a stolen RV parked across the street and taken into custody.

#2022-025882/East Precinct/Second Watch:

On 01-31-2022 at 1100 hours, officers responded to a report of a gunshot wound victim who walked into Swedish Hospital. The adult male victim told officers that this shooting occurred last night between 2100-2200 hours. The victim said that he was in a tent at the 12th and Jackson encampment when several suspects got into an argument. Shortly after this argument the victim said he heard two shots and then felt the gunshot to his foot. The victim claims he never saw the shooter.

#2022-026005/North Precinct/Second Watch:

On 01-31-2022 at 1339 hours, a male and female stole auto parts from a store in the 10400 block of Aurora Avenue North. When an employee confronted the suspects in the parking lot, one of the suspects assaulted the employee in order to retain possession of the merchandise. The suspects then got into their SUV, and one of the suspects fired a gun two times into the air. The employee thought this was an act of intimidation and/or a threat. There was also a small child in a car seat in the vehicle. The suspects fled in their SUV. Responding officers recovered evidence of a shooting in the parking lot. The suspect vehicle was associated with an address outside Seattle. PD in that city located the suspect vehicle and SPD officers responded where they met with the Registered Owner (RO.) The RO admitted to being at the auto parts store but denied committing any crimes. The RO gave officers consent to search the vehicle. Officers did not find a gun. After interviewing the suspect, he was released. Officers were also able to identify and interview the female half of this duo. The Robbery Unit will follow up with this on-going investigation.

#2022-026200/East Precinct/Second Watch:

On 01-31-2022 at 1723 hours, a heavily intoxicated subject went into a local gas station and attempted to shoplift some alcohol products. When the suspect attempted to leave the store with the unpaid alcohol, a store employee blocked his path and asked for their product back. The suspect then punched the victim in the face and led the victim to retaliate with his own force to defend himself and to recover his property. The altercation led to a melee inside the store where the suspect bit the victim in the arms and pulled the victim’s hair out. The suspect also sustained facial injury and was bleeding when officers arrived. While at the scene, the suspect swung at two police officers but missed. Officers were able to arrest the suspect without any use-of-force. Medical aid was summoned for both the suspect and the victim. The suspect was too intoxicated and belligerent for Seattle Fire to screen him. The suspect was transported to Harborview Medical Center for medical treatment with a hospital guard. The suspect will be booked into King County Jail for robbery and two counts of assault once discharged from the hospital. Watch Commander was notified.

#2022-026240/West Precinct/Second Watch:

On 01-31-2022 at 1815 hours, a complainant reported that a male hit a female with a baseball bat. When officers arrived, they contacted the victim who stated that she was on her way home when she was struck in the back of her head. She had no idea who struck her, and she was bleeding out one of her ears. Seattle Fire responded and transported her to the hospital. The attack on the victim appeared to be random. Evidence recovered by officers reveals the suspect walk up behind the victim and take a full swing to the back of her head knocking her to the ground. The suspect is still at large.

#2022-026320/North Precinct/Third Watch:

On 01-31-2022 at 2200 hours, members of the High Risk Victims Section (HRVS) including Human Trafficking (formerly Vice), ICAC, and an undercover detective from GIU with support from uniform arrest team of CRG personnel conducted a proactive Sex Trafficking Operation in the Aurora corridor. The operation yielded 4 adult male arrests for Patronizing a Prostitute. HRVS detectives will file misdemeanor charges for the males to Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.

#2022-026432/South Precinct/Third Watch:

On 01-31-2022 at 2323 hours, a call came in to 911 reporting that an unknown suspect shot at the caller’s car, the caller and the caller’s friend (a passenger in the vehicle). The victim had been driving his new car and was stopped for the light at Rainier Av S and Seward Park Av S when suspects unknown to the victim started shooting in his direction from the opposite side of Rainier Av S. There were no injuries, but 2 vehicles were hit as well as one utility box. Evidence of a shooting was recovered from the scene. Gun Violence Reduction Unit was notified. Officers processed the scene.
