#2022-036563/South Precinct/First Watch:
On 02-12-2022 at 0400 hours, subject had been ITA’d by 3rd watch. Within 3 hours, subject was back at home and upset over his stash of performance enhancement drugs being confiscated. He called 911 threatening he had a gun and was going to kill everyone. Subject was reported to have jumped from 2nd story balcony to the cement patio injuring his left ankle. Subject used a large rock to break the glass pane in the security screen door, entered the house again and armed himself with a kitchen knife in the kitchen where officer contacted him. Team tactics used with a shield to safely enter the house and make contact. Subject refused to comply and wanted to be shot by police. Subject refused to answer phone or text messages. Team entry slowly done again, and subject found sleeping in his bed unarmed. Subject taken into custody without further incident. Seattle Fire responded for his ankle. Transported VIA AMR to Swedish Cherry Hill for ITA evaluation and medical treatment.
#2022-036927/North Precinct/Second Watch:
On 02-12-2022 at 1549 hours, vehicle 1 turned southbound on Lake City WY from NE 130 ST and struck a pedestrian that was in the crosswalk. Seattle Fire responded and initially said the pedestrian had life-threatening injuries. Once at Harborview Medical Center, however, injuries were downgraded from life-threatening and he was stable with laceration to the head. No signs of impairment observed on driver. Screened with Traffic Collision Investigation Squad.
#2022-036950/West Precinct/Second Watch:
On 02-12-2022 at 1600 hours while monitoring a demonstration in the Westlake area officers observed a subject wanted for assault with sexual motivation to several high school girls in the past couple months (See 2021-316415). The subject’s behavior was escalating, and several victims were identified. Officers apprehended the subject and booked him into King County Jail without incident.
#2022-036962/North Precinct/Second Watch:
On 02-12-2022 at 1631 hours, officers were dispatched to Northwest Hospital for a male who was dropped off with a gunshot wound to his leg. The injury was not life threatening and the victim was extremely uncooperative and would not provide any details as to how he sustained his injury.
#2022-368682/West Precinct/Second Watch:
On 02-12-2022 officers were monitoring a protest with a hands-off approach unless officers observed criminal acts. Shortly after 1500 hours, the car brigade (8-10 vehicles) showed up. Approximately 25-35 folks dressed in black showed up for this event. Members within this small group provided speeches. At approx. 1700 hours this group marched passed the precinct and ended their rally in front of the Federal Courthouse where the protest ended. There was no direct police involvement, no force was used, and no arrests were made.
#2022-037024/East Precinct/Second Watch:
On 02-12-2022 at 1807 hours, Dispatch broadcasted a subject was shooting people in a bus stop near the intersection of 23 AV S and S Jackson ST. Responding officers quickly converged in the area and found a victim with a gunshot wound. Officers rendered medical aid to the victim and detained the suspect who was still at the scene. After officers secured the scene and the suspect, Seattle Fire was called to the scene for the victim while officers investigated the incident. According to the victim and witnesses, the victim and suspect were engaged in a verbal argument which then led to the suspect shooting the victim in the leg. The victim then struggled with the suspect over the gun and brought the fight to the ground. When the victim was on the ground, the suspect and his female accomplice punched and kicked the victim repeatedly while the suspect told the victim to “empty his pockets.” Witnesses believed the suspect gave his female accomplice the gun prior to the female driving away from the scene. The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center and the suspect was booked into the King County Jail for Investigation of Assault and Investigation of Robbery. Watch Commander was notified. Gun Violence Reduction Unit was notified, and a detective responded to interview the victim. The suspect was uncooperative and refused to speak with detective.
#2022-037232/East Precinct/Third Watch:
On 02-12-2022 at 2308 hours, officers responded to an assault call at E Pike St / Summit Av. The suspects fled in a vehicle before officers arrived. Officers spoke with the victim and several witnesses. There was an altercation that occurred between the suspects and the victim in a nearby parking lot which became physical in front of the victim’s apartment. The victim’s friend threw a table off a balcony when he saw his friend on the ground being kicked by two subjects. One of the subjects then produced a lead pipe and hit the victim in the head with the pipe causing a 3- inch laceration to his forehead. Seattle Fire responded and checked out the victim. Victim’s friends transported victim to the hospital. Officers conducted an area check but were unable to locate suspects.
