#2022-049249/West Precinct/Second Watch:

On 02-26-2022 at 1315 hours, officers were called to a housing facility due to a resident threatening to kill staff. Staff had barricaded themselves in the office and the female suspect was pounding on the windows. Officers arrived and ultimately arrested the suspect for harassment and an outstanding assault warrant. During contact with the suspect, she struggled with officers resulting in a Type 1 Use of Force (complaint of pain). Suspect was fixated on an officer and assaulted him multiple times, called him a race-based derogatory slur multiple times, and told him several times to go back to his country, that he did not belong here. However, the suspect did not verbally assault the sergeant or the other two officers but remained focused on the same officer. Upon returning to the precinct, it was discovered that the suspect had used racially biased language to another officer of the same race as the victim officer in this case, and one other report was located with further bias elements. Suspect was booked into King County Jail for Hate Crime, Assault 3, Harassment, and an outstanding warrant. On duty LT was notified. Hazard Reports were completed. Bias Crime email notification sent.
