SPD Arson Detectives Investigating Belltown Fire

UPDATE 3/21:

Police have arrested a 38-year-old Federal Way man in this case. The man is a former resident of the Belltown apartment building, where he set several fires on March 10th.

The victim remains at Harborview Medical Center in critical condition.

Detectives from the Arson Bomb Unit, Homicide and Assault Unit, Seattle Fire investigators and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms all assisted in the investigation.

SPD Arson detectives are investigating after several fires were set early Thursday at a Belltown apartment complex.

Around 2:45 AM, the Seattle Fire Department responded to a report of a fire at an apartment building in the 2200 block of 1st Ave.

Fire personnel found a man in a building, who appeared to have sustained injuries from smoke inhalation. He was transported to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition.

Fire investigators determined the fire in the building was intentionally set, and have turned the case over to SPD.
